The Museum and Preservation Office of the Jakarta Capital City Administration (DKI- Jakarta) covers seven museums and a Laboratory. The Staff of these museums has been trained in a three year/four phase training program concerning collection management and storage, passive and active conservation. The first phase resulted in a Masterplan on collection management for seven museums. This plan was written with the staff and served as a guide in the next phase. These contained training-on-the-job in collection management for a group of 25 staff members and specific training in active conservation and restoration for a smaller group. The last phase was a period of training in the Netherlands for 6 trainees. The museums involved are: Puppets museum, Jakarta Historical Museum, Maritime Museum, Art Ceramic Museum, Struggle ’45 Museum, Textile Museum, Inscription Museum, Stone Lab Jakarta. Currently a follow-up project is being formulated. The Heritage Conservation Centre in Singapore will be partner in the new project. Cultural Heritage; Capacity Building
